It’s time to renew my CASCO and OSAGO insurance. I had CASCO/MSK and OSAGO/Ingos. Surprisingly, not a single bastard called, usually they hound their databases. Has anyone researched where is better to go now? Nissan X-Trail 2012, out of warranty already. Also, for OSAGO, I need to go through vehicle inspection…

Masha delights with four “A’s” and asks questions fit for a third grader, which make me feel dumb)

I consider myself almost absolutely literate in Russian, but these intricate web of conjugations, parsing of words and sentences, and all that, are a dark forest for me.

How would you parse the words “съешь” and “вынуть” (like the root, prefix, suffixes)?

I went online for help and stumbled upon an interesting book “Linguistic Detectives”. Downloading it to my device –

[Decided on installing NI Kontakt + Cubase Elements 7]

Who knows how to record good sound in mp3 from a synthesizer on a Mac?

What I already have:

1. Synthesizer, connected to Mac Mini via Midi-USB M-Audio

2. Mac Mini, connected to an external sound card E-MU 0204

3. SampleTank 3.0 software with a set of VST instruments, whose sound I like (although there is a slight delay when playing the keys, which I do not know how to eliminate)

4. Sequencer Garageband, but it’s unlikely to be useful here.

What I would ideally like to have:

1. Record play on the computer through Midi into something like Garageband

2. Feed the recording into something like SampleTank, so it plays it with proper instruments.

3. Ideally, export to mp3 from the same something like Garageband. But recording from the line output of the external sound card might work too, just still unclear with what.

I can record in midi in garageband, but then I would like to play this midi with VST instruments, but I haven’t found such a player or a digitizer.

Tried it myself twice: in the Deutsche Museum, in the “musical instruments” section, you can play on any keyboard instruments from the 18-19th century – harpsichords and clavichords, and even on a splendid Steinway & Sons Grand Model D piano. But in the Munich City Museum’s same section, they don’t allow you to touch anything with your hands! Boo!

Lost my phone at the airport. So I’m out of touch. Sent an SMS to it, if it goes through – it means they either transferred the SIM to another phone or turned mine on. The phone has a lock code, if they insert another SIM, I’ll see it on Google Location. Not reissuing the SIM as it’s still the last chance to find the device :-((((

P.S. If anyone finds it – please contact me 🙂
