Thank you for the tip. Two hours of solo practice with the board, and now I can ride a Penny longboard without getting off, even uphill (a small one).
In the end, the whole trick is in the slight sine wave you make by applying lateral force to the rear axle and the opposite lateral force to the front axle. But it is hard to convey in words – it’s something I understood in theory, but couldn’t quite execute. It’s very similar to riding a ripstik (which I learned quickly, but the little one truly shines on it).
The only downside so far is that it only works when you really strain your leg muscles. At first, it feels like a workout, but then you get tired. Just now, I almost non-stop circled Gorky Park as if I ran through it.
