A small update in the blog about hybris. I managed to find a very strange behavior of FlexibleSearch (a type of query language) that is not documented anywhere. However, to come across it, one must slightly deviate from the recommendations of good coding practice.

Only in the case of databases, such a deviation has only one side effect – performance; but in the case of hybris, it results in an error that depends on the phase of the moon: sometimes it appears, sometimes it does not.

Major update on the blog: managing product availability in an online store. There’s no specific focus on Hybris here, the article is about e-commerce in general. “Tested by electronics” – from personal experience across various projects, with examples and in pictures. It will tell you about the typical difficulties internet store operators face and how to solve them at an architectural level. What to do with composite products (bundles), variants (sizes/colors), how to establish data exchange with ERP/WMS, how to build systems with dynamic availability calculations based on rules, and much more. The article turned out to be lengthy.

Like & Share 😉

P.S. But it’s awkward in terms of English. If anyone is willing to help me make it sound more natural, I’d be grateful 🙂 Anyway, I continue to work on the style and language over the week.

I prepared a large article about Product Availability in hybris. I’m going to publish it on Monday on the blog (http://hybrismart.com). I would like to find a native English speaker with minimal IT skills to proofread the article. I believe it will take 30 min or so. Please contact me by e-mail (r.aliev@gmail.com) or skype (rauf_aliev). Thanks a lot in advance.
