Major update on the blog about Hybris: article on Cockpit Framework Expert Customization.

Part of the Hybris “admin panels” are built on ZK Framework 3.6, precisely on a framework built on top of this ZK. All this is very old and poorly documented. Nearly in all projects, any modification in this area is a pain for developers. There are few specialists. Those who are available do not know the subject thoroughly. SAP itself fully understands the dead-end chosen many years ago and is gradually replacing it with the new framework, Cockpit NG (next generation), which also uses ZK, but now version 8 (the old one is built on 3.6, released seven years ago!). So, this article is about the old framework. We have to use it in every project, no matter how hard we try to avoid it. Many tasks cannot be done otherwise.

There is a lot of information; there will be several articles. Today – the first part.

I remembered a quote from Bash: “The admin is a jerk, he put his phone on charge and tells me not to read the SMS on his phone. It never crossed my mind, but now, damn, curiosity is tearing me apart.”

And the English instead of our “No Exit” write: “Exit on the other side”.

“Do not mess in vases!”, “Do not blow your nose in the curtains”.

This wonderful set is complemented by the concept of think negative. After months of living in the USA, this difference in the mentality of people from opposite continents is very noticeable. Here too they can plaster a bunch of signs saying the Potomac drowns careless tourists, but they do it much more gracefully.

The link above leads to an article about the prohibitions at every corner that kept popping up in Russia.

I was simply delighted with the WTC Transportation Hub in New York. It’s a huge station for the PATH train, which opened this spring. More beautiful pictures at the link below.
