“This Saturday, Masha and Liza participated in the ‘Kangaroo’ math Olympiad. Almost like home, but in America, at the ‘Metaphora’ language center. It was quite unexpected to find out that ‘Kangaroo’ is also held here.
The girls have been writing this Olympiad every year at their school in Moscow. It’s something familiar and dear to their hearts. First the problems, then the diplomas… And now ‘Kangaroo’ in America. For them, it’s like a piece of Borodinsky bread, gingerbread, or kissel. A sensation familiar since childhood.
They sat in the same classroom, at the same desk. One might think Masha could have quietly asked Liza everything a hundred times, but the Olympiad is a matter of honor 🙂
