At our Museum of Modern Art, a temporary exhibition of Yayoi Kusama has opened. The demand is such that tickets are distributed online only once a week, on Mondays at noon (they are free because this is Washington). Yayoi has been living in a psychiatric clinic since 1977, yet she is the most sought-after contemporary artist among those still living: her White Net No. 28 sold for more than seven million dollars.

New blog post: implemented the idea of multi-line search for multi-line orders in an online store. Just copy-paste a set of IDs or product names into the text field, and everything is set for a one-click order of all items from the list. The system displays suggestions for each line item.
I have not seen this anywhere else, so the goal of the experiment is also to check how well it will work as intended.

Egor, thanks for helping to develop the concept!

This is me writing a dictation today.

Went for a walk in Arlington with the younger one. Live and learn. She has calluses from figure skating – on her hands!
From her explanations, I did not understand anything about spins, spirals, and blades; it’s a whole different world altogether.

Wrote the “total dictation.” My main discovery is that I started writing like a chicken with its foot, really missing the keyboard. The text is not simple) half of the sentences could be simplified without losing meaning or the beauty of the style, but – I understand, it’s a dictation after all

Stumbled upon some sketches of my idea for a nameless online game for money, from 2011. Ran into some conceptual difficulties at the time and got distracted by other topics. Might be useful to someone, abandoned six years ago.
For immediate clarity, keep in mind that this is chess (you’ll understand later that it’s not only that)

Traffic features in our small town. Along this road, we often travel from Tysons Corner to the outside world – to Washington, to Lisa’s or Masha’s schools.
The colored pathway represents a turn (!). There is a traffic light hanging in the middle and a stop line. When it’s red, you can still turn right according to the traffic rules, but very cautiously. So, according to those who built this road, there is a right turn (if you move from north to south). It’s also a left turn, if you move from south to north – but that’s somewhat understandable, though also complicated.
For me, this road might as well have no turns at all.

I buy things in any color so long as they are black. I just received a book; once I read it, I will share what makes it interesting. I have its digital version, but I wanted to buy the paper one.
