A really good channel by a guy who comments on interesting interviews on YouTube from a slang perspective and helps decipher the mess.

With Nicole Kidman, it’s understandable but very amusing

With Jennifer Lawrence – without hints, it’s darn hard to get what she’s saying. But after the explanations, it becomes clear.

Highly recommended

Reading the news – “amendments are being considered that would make it a criminal offense to insult WWII veterans.”

I wonder, is it possible to insult a deceased veteran? It seems from the text that they don’t necessarily have to still be alive.

Besides, as of the beginning of 2019, there were about 70,000 actual combat participants left in the country, and unfortunately, this number is greatly declining because they are all over 90 years old. But besides veterans, there is a category of “people equated to veterans.” As of the beginning of 2019, there were more than a million such people. For instance, this includes “home front workers” – more than 760,000 people, residents of the besieged Leningrad – about 96,000 people, minor prisoners of fascism (almost 104,000), and widows of disabled and participants of WWII (240,000). I wonder, does the bill cover the 70,000, or the million, or, if deceased veterans are included, millions?

I analyzed Richter’s performance of the Chopin prelude and color-coded the tempo. Richter slows down and speeds up at certain points, and it was interesting to figure out where and somehow note it for myself.

The height of the red line indicates tempo. The higher the line, the higher the average tempo in that spot. The comments show the average duration in seconds. In measure 17, the tempo briefly jumps to 60 quarters per minute (4 seconds per measure). On average, it stays around 39-42 (about 6 sec/measure). At the end, it slows down to 31 BPM (7.6 sec per measure), in measure 22.

Actually, I wasn’t planning to post this here, but in a nearby private group, it somehow got 140 shares and 500 likes overnight, so I’m sharing it in the open, in case it’s of use to anyone.

Colleagues sent a link to a beautiful SAP t-shirt (should I order one?).

If I were them, I would do things differently. Here’s how:

– not 22 euros, but 1999.

– not a one-time price, but a one-time + annual maintenance. The buyer would need to pay an additional piece per month to the vendor, and another piece – to a certified atelier

– the price includes darning, washing, and ironing at a certified atelier.

– sleeves are separate, and must only be attached at a certified atelier

– the print is separate, it needs ironing, and yes, also in a certified atelier

– after some time, the t-shirt may start to smell. But… if used together with a jacket from the same manufacturer and sneakers, not so soon. In other cases, the help of a certified atelier is required.

– if it starts to stink and washing doesn’t help, then you need the help of a certified atelier

– if you need to add a pocket for bars (not any bars, but from the same vendor, of course), then you need the help of a certified atelier

– overall, at some point, it may seem that the t-shirt has worn out, and it needs to be thrown away because it suddenly smells, washing no longer helps, and the atelier gives up. There is always polo for that! Priced at 4200. Clean and fresh. You can save by not buying sleeves from the polo (minus 600), because the sleeves from the t-shirt will fit – if the atelier confirms they don’t smell.

– it is not recommended to take off the t-shirt. Wear it as it was put on in the atelier. Private removals and installations might cause the seams to come apart. But if done by a certified atelier, the likelihood of this happening is lower…
