Fellow cyclists, can someone explain to me why you can’t fit a tire on a 700c 23/25 mm that would withstand a gravel road without the risk of puncture? What prevents manufacturing a tubeless tire twice as thick on the inside, so it fits a road bike as if it were made for it? Is it possible? Or do they make them?

I have a phone full of videos with Yuki. I was told it would pass, but it hasn’t yet.

For some reason, Yuki doesn’t like to walk, even though in her “past life” she lived in a village and was almost on “free range”. She is very reluctant to walk away from home, if she walks at all. On the other hand, she runs home at a gallop without stopping, and I can barely keep up. Moreover, she remembers the route very precisely, knowing exactly where to turn. Maybe she thinks we are taking her to the forest to leave her there like Marfusha in Morozko.

We have a new family member! We brought this little “fox” Shiba Inu home yesterday from Amish country, Lancaster. The Mennonites and Amish have been living in those parts since the 18th century and try to keep their lives largely unchanged since then, not readily embracing technology. For instance, we spoke with Yuki’s breeder, as we named our dog, in a garage where a buggy was parked – a carriage powered by horse. The owner belongs to the Mennonites, whose rejection of modern amenities is not as strict as that of the Old Order Amish, which are also plentiful in that area.

Their house does not appear on Google Maps. Hence, the GPS simply took us to the center of the street. It had long been dark, a heavy rain was pouring, and we turned into the first driveway we found to ask people for directions. Surprisingly, a woman there started speaking Russian! She and her husband had been beekeepers for twenty years, sold us a gallon of the most delicious fresh honey, and showed us how they make it – a homemade centrifuge, an entire barn filled with various beekeeping supplies.

Lisa wanted a cat, Masha wanted a dog. In the end, we found a dog, one just as independent as a cat.

Yuki turned out to be very calm and well-behaved. At least that’s how it seems after almost a day. So now I’m “in the club” too 😉
