Our Facebook groups are on fire

I am currently reading about painting techniques, and in one chapter, I see a lot of interesting things about an artist whose last name I had never heard before. And then it dawns on me
Bouguereau—it’s Bouguereau! Adding to the recent discovery that Coulomb is Coulomb.

RIP
“They say I capture ‘Russia unembellished,’ but I find this assessment rather superficial. If one were to describe my subjects in such a manner, it would be more accurate to say that I capture ‘Average Russia.’ Because this is indeed what it looks like beyond the major cities and metropolises.” (From Dmitry Markov’s book “#Draft”)

Yesterday-Today

Masha is generally far from politics and knows almost nothing beyond the names of two presidents. Yesterday in the car she suddenly asked “Where is Navalny now?”. Well, she vaguely heard something about Navalny. “In prison,” I reply. “And why did he come back if he knew he would be arrested?”. I say “because his job is like that, values, and principles.” “He will die.” “Well why. He is sitting, it’s hard for him, but he’s alive. He will sit until the power changes.”
And this morning, I open the news.
OpenAI Sora: now the US Department of Defense will perform much better with evidence of UFO attacks on America! Wow, what an interesting time we live in.
The lamp in my bathroom warns me in clear English that it needs not just any bulbs, but a specific type and definitely from China! 😉

XOXO, turns out, means “hugs and kisses”. Like X is a kiss and O is a hug. Moreover, the use of X as “kiss” dates back to 1700. In England, they say XX is commonly used for kisses.

Decided to see how Valentine’s Day is doing back home
Not surprised
