Yesterday was a corporate event in Minsk, and today we’re celebrating the five-year anniversary of trading NYSE: EPAM at the New York Stock Exchange. And on Sunday, I’m off to Krakow and Minsk for nearly three weeks. Time to freeze and work.

It took three minutes to find a band whose name I only remembered as “it starts with B”. Found it though)

Wikipedia, a list of all world music bands (that achieved something) alphabetically, there isn’t a very long list under B, you can scan through it quickly with your eyes.

And this is the second award. For winning the EPAM hybris Competence Center Contest. Perhaps someone remembers my experiments with Crop & Resize for Hybris. In this contest, this prototype was developed into a fully-fledged extension, very flexible and customizable for specific project needs. A couple of sleepless nights, but everything was submitted on time, and here it is, the first prize — in the studio.

I’m proud: for hybrismart, for internal presentations and various other activities, I received an award from EPAM in the form of this statuette. Plus a substantial cash prize, the largest among those given for various merits.

What I like about EPAM is that while I continuously share my knowledge with others, I am learning something new at a rapid pace. I haven’t experienced this in the last ten to fifteen years. It’s nice to work with professionals when there’s someone to learn from, and there’s something to learn.

Blog update on Hybris. Created a working prototype of MoreLikeThis recommendations based on the namesake functionality of SOLR. This is when you ask the system to show products similar to the one selected, and it does so based on content (product description, title, manufacturer, etc.). Integrated this with Hybris. The article includes a video and details on the challenges encountered along the way.

Ran 5 km with Masha in 26:15, averaging 5.23 / km, with an elevation change of 27m. Ran the first 4 km in 5:05, then there was a hill

I am currently at the Museum of Modern Art in Washington. This video is simply mesmerizing – thirty-one minutes of chemical and physical mechanisms. Beautiful and at times it looks impossible
