On the beach stands an unknown contraption resembling an alien spaceship. Turns out, it’s a World War II bunker. Two-meter-thick concrete walls and ceiling. 20 rooms. Artillery battery (like a tank roof, 6″ caliber, 360Β°). Previously unnoticed, it has now been “exposed” by erosion and water. Nearby, there are observation towers from which coordinates were transmitted to target this device.

🚲45km, from Mount Vernon to the Pentagon and back. On the way back, I rode in the dark, and unsurprisingly, I only encountered one other cyclist: the area around the marshes is swarming with gnats, and you occasionally crash into their dense swarms. Thank God, at least they don’t bite.

I bought a bike holder and now the possibilities have expanded;)

When all the world’s alphabets, arrows, and circles were placed into the Unicode table, and there was still a ton of free space left that needed to be filled, since it exists. There is space for 2 million characters, and font designers are doing their best)

I also learned that the Noto font (the default Android font from Google) includes renderings for as many as 65,000 characters.

And in Unicode, there are cool ligatures. for example, the following text is one “symbol” ο·½ (Basmala). It doesn’t display quite right here on Facebook due to the fonts, you can see the full version here: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=%EF%B7%BD

My new article on hybrismart.com. It’s about how the management of “assets” – images, uploaded documents – is organized. They are stored in the file system in a rather unusual way, and the article discusses this format and what surprises one might expect from it.

Well, yes, if you’re not from the Hybris world, you might not find it very useful – almost no use at all 😦
