Does anyone know if there is a service something like an online NoSQL database where one can dump data from the front end of a website or some real-time system, which would quickly save it into an unlimited cluster, and then allow aggregation and reporting from it using a relatively simple programming language? Essentially, like Google Analytics but without the analytics, yet with the appropriate tools to write it? Supporting map/reduce, distributed processing, etc. The main feature here is a) not to host it yourself but in the cloud, b) pay only for resources, c) not to bother creating proprietary solutions and maintaining infrastructure.

Very interesting about the fish that creates sand paintings in search of a spouse. All episodes are available on Netflix. The video at the link is just a tiny piece (apparently, one of the most interesting) and each episode is 50 minutes long.

I’m reading a book about SAP Commerce Cloud. I noticed that the authors consistently use she instead of singular they. At first, I thought it was a typo. But when I encounter it for the tenth time, there’s clearly something behind it 🙂 can someone explain what’s going on? :)))

Of course, there are articles by different authors claiming that “…The singular they is ear-hurting, eye-burning, soul-ravaging, mind-numbing syntactic folly.” However, even they all write that it is correct to rephrase the sentence, but I have never seen them write she.

Folks, who knows – what are the actual chances of getting a US visa for my mom (72 years old), living in Moscow region? I am worried that after paying the visa fee, one might wait for an interview for six months. Secondly, I’m not sure about how the situation is with visas for retirees. I have a green card, and mom owns an apartment (it seems like both points could be important for the process).
