My first pancake is lumpy on a 3D printer. The part turned out, but it failed the test as an adapter for a manual coffee grinder to a vegetable slicer. Besides the fact that I failed to check the direction of the motor shaft rotation (it was the opposite of what I needed), it’s clear I should have recalled some material strength – the pusher is objectively weak. But now I know how to design a part in CAD from scratch and get it in plastic within a few hours. Printer – Ender 3.

A very interesting lecture on molecular biology. It largely duplicates the high school curriculum, but it’s much more interesting and understandable. On one hand, it seems like I didn’t hear anything particularly new, but I do feel that concepts are better coming together in my mind after a good presentation.

Am I correct in understanding that the day before yesterday’s launch to the ISS was specifically to deliver that very equipment for detecting and repairing a puncture – a pack of tea and duct tape?

“… The flight control center suggested that astronauts seal the possible leak site with duct tape, ‘when there is time and an opportunity.’ Earlier in October, astronauts had already taped over all the welding seams on the station, but it didn’t help.”

(I think in the quest for solutions, the section “Little Tricks” from the magazine “Science and Life” played a not insignificant role)
